Earlier on in his career, Mr. Mayfield has shown that he has a natural talent for leadership. In the year 2013, he served as Mess Chief and Facilities Chief for Combat Logistics in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and just one year later, served as an instructor at Marine Corps Food Service School aboard Marine Corps Detachments Fort Lee, Virginia, where he was promoted to Master Sergeant.
On December 2, 2019, Mr. Morris Mayfield III was promoted to Master Gunnery Sergeant and has appeared in numerous speaking events and has served as a constant beacon of discipline, and motivation, through consistency. Additionally, he has served as a team leader, faculty advisor, Senior Instructor, Small Garrison, Staff Non-Commissioned Officer-In-Charge, Chief Instructor, Equal Opportunity Representative, and Operations Chief. His awards include two Meritorious Service Medals, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, eight Good Conduct Awards, and a Recruiter Ribbon. Morris Mayfield III is a graduate of Lincoln University.
